What are the benefits to doing Yoga during and after pregancy?
Yoga during and after your pregnancy offers a wide range of benefits that contribute to the overall well-being of both you and your baby.
Pre Natal Yoga helps to enhance flexibility, strength, circulation and can help alleviate the symptoms of common discomforts such as sciatica, pelvic pain, high and low blood pressure and more. Yoga can also help to de-stress the mind and bring some relaxation into your routine which in turn reduces feelings of anxiety and worry, leading to a more calm and relaxed journey to childbirth. Once your baby is born, Post Natal Yoga can aid in strengthening and toning your muscles, help you to come back to exercise safely and focus on nurturing yourself in the months beyond labour.
If approved by your Doctor, a Private Pre Natal Yoga session is safe from your first trimester up until the baby is born. For Post Natal Sessions, I recommend starting 6 weeks postpartum if you have a vaginal birth or 8 weeks postpartum if you have had a C-Section.
